In 1127 AD, a group of British crusader knights captured gems from ancient Egypt and buried them with them in death.
In London now, a construction crew found the knight’s tomb and a mysterious man was authorized to investigate findings not found on the site. In a flashback, the hieroglyphics on the circular murals, dating from the New Kingdom era, tell of Princess Ahmanet. He was first in line to succeed his father Pharaoh Menehptre only to be stripped of his birthright when his second wife gave birth to a son. Determined to claim the throne for himself, Ahmanet sold his soul to the Egyptian god Set, who gave him a special dagger to shift his passion for a physical form. After killing his family, Ahmanet tried to sacrifice his lover to give Set a physical form, but his father’s pastor killed him and dissolved Ahmanet, punishing him to be buried alive forever in a sarcophagus surrounded by mercury so that the shape of his monster would not go unnoticed. tomb.
In Iraq today, soldier Nick Morton and his colleague Chris Vail accidentally discovered the tomb of Ahmanet after carrying out an airstrike on a rebel stronghold. Jenny Halsey, an archeologist and former lover of Nick, came and investigated the tomb, correctly concluding that it was a prison. After removing Ahmanet’s sarcophagus from a puddle of mercury, Nick’s boss, Colonel Greenway, placed the sarcophagus on a transport plane, headed for England.
During the flight, Vail was seized by the power of Ahmanet after being bitten by a camel spider while in the tomb. After trying to open the sarcophagus, he stabs Greenway and attacks the group before Nick feels compelled to shoot him dead. A large wave of crows then attacks the plane, causing it to crash and kill everyone on the ship except Jenny, who was parachuted from the plane by Nick.
Nick awoke a day later in the mortuary in Oxford and learned from Vail’s ghost that he had been cursed by Ahmanet, who tried to use it as a substitute ship for Set. The mummified mother Ahmanet escaped from the sarcophagus and began feeding rescue workers to regenerate her decomposed body. Turning workers into zombie servants, he pulls Nick and Jenny into a trap, forcing both of them to fight the minions because they fail to escape.
At the last second, an unknown army appeared and defeated Ahmanet. Their leader Dr. Henry Jekyll explained that Jenny was an agent of Prodigium, a secret community dedicated to hunting supernatural threats whose base was under London’s Natural History Museum and contained objects such as Gill-man’s hands and vampire skulls. He insisted that Nick was cursed when he opened Ahmanet’s grave and revealed his intention to complete the ritual and let Set have Nick to destroy Set and end his crime forever.
Meanwhile, Ahmanet took control of the Prodigium technician and freed himself from detention, causing havoc, death, and destruction in the process. Jekyll succumbed to his dark impulse and turned into Edward Hyde, his murderous and psychotic alternate personality, who nearly killed Nick before Nick succeeded in stopping Hyde by using Jekyll serum to suppress his evil side. Nick and Jenny then escaped from the Prodigium while Ahmanet stole the dagger back, called in the deceased British crusaders to serve him, and created a large sandstorm that devastated London.
Guided by Vail, Nick and Jenny fled to the subway tunnel under London but were attacked by Ahmanet’s servants. Ahmanet caught Jenny and sank her, hoping to keep her from Nick. Nick quarreled, but gave up and let himself embrace Ahmanet, using it as a ruse to steal a dagger and stab himself. His body was owned by Set, who continued to join Ahmanet to enforce his decision until he saw Jenny’s corpse, and at which point Nick gained control and used Set’s power to suck the life from Ahmanet, turning him into a wrinkled person. mummy.
Nick uses Set’s power to revive Jenny, saying goodbye before feeling burdened by Set’s power and disappearing. Soon, Jenny was in touch with Dr. Jekyll and they discuss whether Nick, who is now united with Set, is a good or bad person and which side he is on because Ahmanet’s corpse is lowered into a pool of mercury that is locked in the Prodigium base for safekeeping.
Later in the desert, it was revealed that Nick had resurrected Vail, who questioned their subsequent actions. Nick answered, “Where is your adventure?” Both of them climbed on the sand path behind them. Back in London, Jekyll told Jenny that as long as Nick’s part of humanity remained, he would continue to find a way to become human again.
